A Valley Stream man was victim of a home invasion Sunday afternoon, Nassau County police said.
The 36-year-old victim was alone at his Carroll Avenue home, when he heard a banging on the back door, opened the sliding door and a man pointed a black automatic handgun at him at 12:35 p.m., police said. The victim was forced back inside his house.
The suspect demanded money from the victim, who complied and then ran from his home out the sliding door and into the street, screaming for help. A teenager called police.
The suspect ran off in an unknown direction. The victim was not hurt.
The suspect is described as a 5-foot-8-inch black man with a thin build. He was wearing blue jeans and a blue shirt. He has crooked yellow teeth and a tan bandage wrapped from his chin to the top of his head.
