Get bullies in therapy ASAP. THEY are the ones with the psychological issues. It starts with THEM. Victims need it also. If a child is as young as seven, there is still time to get them out of this behavior. Deal with what is really going on here…….

As for Phoebe Prince, it was this abuse that caused her to snap. Some are trying to say not so but it is. I know from experience and a lifetime of this. I know what I am talking about.

Anti-bullying laws? Are we kidding?

The country is going down in flames and this is what you morons are most concerned with today?

Welcome to the new America, where you no longer have to convince. You just hire a lawyer and coerce.

Time to start killing the lawyers and the morons who hire them.

Kids are mirrors of their parents and environment. Bullying parents raise bullying kids who need to put somebody else down to feel good. Pushover parents raise bullied kids.

By building kids’ self confidence and supporting their emotional needs with quality attention, a balanced diet and room for expression parents on both sides can stop bullying. The bullied kids can learn a martial art, the bullies can learn meditation. It’s so easy with the right focus, it’s easier than blaming the school and going to the press…

We have a new case that the parent was prohibited from coming into the school, the child was removed from the school by the parents because they were not satisfied with how the school leaders handled the issues. The parents were reposted to their jobs as being abusive and violent towards the school leaders when they came in to address the issues. Now the parent is under review and possible disciplinary actions at her job which is a school safety officer at another school.

Now if we have issues like these happening in our schools and school leaders are handling it this way, we’re not only going to see bullying issues arise but more violence as parent involvement is now on a frustration and anger level. Some parents are now going into the schools to have physical engagement with the children who bully/abuse/taunt their children. This is a serious state of affair with these issues and we are not proactively or seriously looking into the real world impacts and effects of them. Why wait for more lives to be lost?

I support Suffolk County Legis. Jon Cooper’s call for more legislatures to combat these issues, I would say that we don’t need more laws or legislations, we need more action and engagement from what is already in place and can work if we have support from all angles. Having more inactive laws and legislations will not address the issues. The most important elements that need to be brought to light is the need for convergence of us as a people in addressing this.

Having more legislation, laws, task force and resources and not using them effectively is a band aid fix on the issue. We need more community involvement, more parents stepping up and being proactive in dealing with the issues. This is not an issue that is limited to the schools; it is a societal problem that proliferates through every aspect of our society and must be dealt with and by the people. So I would ask Suffolk County Legis. Jon Cooper to look at other organizations/groups that are already doing this work in the field and helping them to work with the Long Island communities in addressing the issues.

We already have Task Forces and other resources that are available to help and expend in these areas, let us network and collaborate instead of trying to start something new or reinventing the wheel. Let us work together as a people by sharing our experiences, lessons learnt and resources to be more effective. I welcome any collaboration on this initiative.

George Deabold, founder and Chairman of School Watch. I would really implore you all to pass this
bill. This is long overdue. You have to have teacher accountability. Too many teachers and
administrators are turning their backs and letting child safety issues fall to the wayside. Just look at
the papers, the issues that are happening all over the country. It is growing. As students get
access to other students, increase in technology brings them closer together which leads to more
confrontation and more bullying. I would ask that you pass this bill, levy some kind of fine against
administrators that turn a blind eye to children safety issues. Thank you very much.

Connor and all others – hang in there and hold your head up high! Remember you are better than them! There really should be a support group for these kids. Bullying has gone on for an eternity, but that doesn’t make it right, and the internet & cellphones has amplified the effects a thousand times.

You sound like an infant. I usually try not to talk to infants, but, since you have sympathy for me “right there”, I should let you know that I have your mother “right here”. She should be home in time to tuck you in, and read you a bedtime story.
