A man was arrested Friday for threatening another man with a BB gun before attacking and robbing him in Uniondale.
Nassau County police said the victim was sitting in Uniondale Avenue Park when he was approached by three men at 5:30 p.m. One of the suspects lifted his shirt, produced a handgun, pointed it in the victim’s face and demanded he give him whatever he had on him, police said.
The victim grabbed the gun and pushed it out of his face, at which point another suspect kicked him in the leg. The victim fell to the ground, and the three suspects began punching and kicking him.
One suspect took the victim’s BlackBerry. They then fled southbound from Uniondale Avenue Park.
The victim was taken to Nassau University Medical Center for treatment.
Officers later arrested Matthew Delvalle, of Uniondale, and charged him with two counts of robbery. The gun used in the robbery, a BB gun, was found, along with the victim’s BlackBerry, police said.
Delvalle will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Saturday.
