]]> http://archive.longislandpress.com/2010/06/23/nassau-parks-to-get-facelift-for-summer/comment-page-1/#comment-48123 misterharddriver Fri, 25 Jun 2010 15:27:45 +0000 http://www.longislandpress.com/?p=95496#comment-48123 this is a good project, well on its way to improving the preserve as an enjoyable, recreational venue for all. however, until enforcement can rid the preserve of the people who think its one big dog run, and the denizens of the night who use it as a drinking spot, it will degrade again. come on folks, its a preserve. do not bring your dogs just to have a place that you dont have to pick up after them. and dont let them dive into the water chasing migratory birds to watch the abilities of the labrador retriever. and dont bring loaves of bread and bags of seed to feed the swans and ducks – it messes up the ecology and draws vermin……the 4 legged kind. there happen to be a pair of swans at one pond this year who are pretty rare for our area. as i was watching them i had to endure a few morons whose loose dogs were barking and getting aggressive with me as i stood there.
