A pedestrian was seriously injured in East Meadow after he was struck by an SUV while crossing the street on Saturday night.

Police say at 10:52 p.m., 46-year-old Jose Reyes of Hempstead was attempting to cross Fulton Street when an unknown vehicle traveling west hit him and left the scene. The SUV is described as a dark-colored older model.

Nassau County Police Ambulance transported Reyes, who suffered head trauma and broken bones, to a local hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
