A school bus driver found to be texting while driving a bus full of students has been fired, according to the company employing her.
The discovery came when a Half Hollow Hills School District eighth-grade student took a picture of the driver, using her cell phone to send a text message and steering the bus with her wrists, while driving the full bus to West Hollow Middle School in Melville.
The bus company, Educational Bus Transportation, was asked by the school district to remove the driver from any bus routes. The company responded by firing her.
