I am posting with my given name because I love the person I am. I am a mother, a daughter, a friend, a lover. I am a good woman. I am also a wiccan.My friends love me as do my family. My heart is big with room for much more. Everyday I learn. Everyday I struggle. Every night I sleep with the peace of mind knowing that I live my life doing the right thing. Do you really mean to tell me that I harbor evil because I don’t worship as you do? I love my mother. My true mother is this beautiful earth. My spirit is peaceful.I pity those who will never achieve true inner peace. You chase words in a book. That’s your right. Please respect mine and my childrens’. The only evil in our lives is brought by man.

I’m so glad to have stumbled upon this wonderful article. I have been to the Silver Broom in Sayville & met Mark. He is so personable & I felt completely at ease with him (& I have a nervous personality). I’ve always wanted to be a part of something greater than myself… how about a great something that I’m already a part of: society, nature, the world?

The poor misguided ones are those who have not looked into our religion and learned the truth about us. It still amazes me that we Pagans are stigmatized in this day and age of so-called tolerance. And no, we do not believe in a personification of evil (satan). I was christian until about 15 years ago when I found a spiritual path that works for me.

Goddess protect me from the christian “good people”

You are incorrect, the word wizard is derived from wise. You shouldn’t make statements like that without an authoritative reference.

Excellent article; well balanced.

I was saddenedby Corinne’s posting of MAY-27. She doesn’t seem to realize that the terms “Witch” and “Witchcraft” have at least 17 different meanings. To Wiccans “Witch” often means a follower of Wicca. In the Old Testament, “witchcraft” means issuing spoken curses to hurt or kill others. This is unrelated to Wicca. Wiccans are prohibited by the Wiccan Rede from harming others. In the New Testament, “witchcraft” refers to murderers who use poison. Again, behavior absolutely forbidden by the Wiccan Rede.

Mr. Taj seems to need a little help with the etymology of the word “wizard”: “wizard’ is derived from “vizier”, meaning a seer, not from “wisdom” as he states.
