Stay far, far away from bakeries today: Robert Pattinson, star of The Twilight Saga and the dreams of 98 percent of the female population (the other 2 percent bats for Team Lautner), is 24 today. What’s that in vampire years? Don’t worry, R-Pattz will live forever.

Robert Pattinson was born in London, England on May 13, 1986 to a mother who worked for a modeling agency and a father who imported cars from America. He has two older sisters. Pattinson’s early work dovetailed from acting with the Barnes Theatre Company to modeling at the age of 12. Four years later, his modeling career had fizzled (“But he is sooooo hot!”) and he returned to acting. His portrayal of Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire got him attention, but it was when he grew fangs and started oozing sex appeal as Edward Cullen in Twilight that he hit it big.
The third Twilight film, titled The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is set for release June 30 this summer. As the date gets closer, expect to see and read about Pattinson even more than you already do. Hell, the guy even has a wax statue at Madame Tussauds’ museums in London and New York City (how have those things not been stolen already?).
If you didn’t already, you’ll want to check out the photo gallery we’ve got of Robert Pattinson. It’s the best collection of The Pattinator’s insanely good looks, I-don’t-style-it-just-looks-this-good-when-I-wake-up hair and eyes you need a map to get out of.
