Happy Mother’s Day! Mother’s Day Events on LI

From Saturday gift fairs to Sunday brunch, your guide to the weekend

Anna Jarvis, the founder of Mother’s Day in the U.S., said of the mass-commercialization of the holiday,

“A printed card means nothing except that you are too lazy to write to the woman who has done more for you than anyone in the world. And candy! You take a box to Mother—and then eat most of it yourself. A pretty sentiment.”

So, you better do something good. Here are a few ideas to get you started.
