A 24-year-old Bellport woman was arrested Thursday for driving with a large quantity of marijuana in her car on the Southern State Parkway, New York State police said.
A Trooper pulled over a Chevrolet Impala driven by Rachel Couch after she changed lanes unsafely several times near Exit 30, Broadway, at 2:15 p.m., police said.
The Trooper detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle and a search yielded $7,800 cash in $100.00 denominations in the trunk of vehicle, Police said. A large clear plastic Ziploc bag containing more than 1 pound marijuana was also found, police added.
Couch was charged with criminal possession of marijuana and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
She was arraigned Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
