I happen to agree with TOM and Mr. Mangano. If properly designed, managed, and promoted, Long Island could wring more tourist dollars out of NY/NJ Metro. We are a lot closer and more accessible by public transportation than Atlantic City or the casino’s in CT. And, as long as Mr. Mangano somehow secures agreements that the contruction and maintenance is handled by locally based firms and Nassau receives a cut of the profits, why not? Heck, maybe we could recapture some of those $100K civil servant salaries.

economic stimulus Tom? Instead of inviting more garbage to the Island how about as an economic stimulus plan we stop paying Civil Servants $100K a year and benefits that the tax payer pays into for life.

Great Idea! This would provide the economic stimulus that Nassau needs. It is a much better idea than having luxury apartments and small shops on the site. Kudos to you Ed! Hope it goes through!
