LIPA says more than 1000 crews are working around the clock to restore power and the majority of customers will be restored by late Wednesday evening.

Some areas involving significant damage may not be restored until Wednesday or Thursday, according to LIPA. The majority of customers will receive a call indicating an estimate of restoration for their electric service.
