Suffolk County Board of Elections officials released results Wednesday of a recanvass of the Feb. 9 vote, showing Murray with a 160-vote victory over Democrat Lauren Thoden.

Preliminary results on Election Night had Murray leading by 186.

The seat covering part of Suffolk County’s south shore was open because incumbent Patricia Eddington was elected Brookhaven town clerk in November. Thoden worked on Eddington’s staff.

With Murray’s victory, Democrats outnumber Republicans in the Assembly, 108-42.
