I would like to begin by thanking the both of you that have commented on this article previously,
for completely going off on a tangent and not addressing the issue at hand. I applaud you both for your focus and concern, for those inflicted by the sorry excuse for human beings that chose this path. Stop rambling and worry about your own lives.

On the other hand, I am completely and utterly relieved that those involved in this poorly thought out and foolish crime were arrested. I can finally take a breath of relief, somewhat. I commend the Suffolk police for following through with this case, and for arresting and charging the mastic trash with what they asked for and deserve. I don't really care who they are, how they were raised, who their parent's are. None of that matters. I honestly care ten times more for the Domino's employee who will now always wonder, is this next delivery going to end my life? Or that man riding his bicycle who was blind sided by some kids with a bat. Nobody deserves to feel like that, ever. No excuses. All I know is that these kids don't even deserve an outlet, they are doomed to a lifestyle similar to this, if not worse. Their choices are a shining example of what underdeveloped frontal lobe reasoning leads to. They've made their decisions, which are plainly terrible, and now must reap what they have sowed.

Yes, I may come off as feeling too strongly on this particular issue, but it hits home. I believe that Mastic/Shirley is an infestation of the scum of the earth. Not all, but most. This town has spiraled downhill so incredibly fast, that I have no hope for it to make a comeback. I am counting down the seconds to escaping this hell-hole.

Meredith,

I am sure the kids arrested for Armed Robbery didn't have permission from their parents either.

Oh wait, in this case these 15 and 16 yr olds are branded young men.

But if they were selling candy in the cold they would be neglected children, right?

Meredith,

Your claim that Jule Huston did not have permission is new to me.

When did that fact come out?

I feel bad for Jule Huston but c'mon now.. its not up to you to be putting 12 yr olds out on a street corner to sell candy. If I was the parent to one of those kids I woulda killed him. He did NOT have parental permission and thats where he went wrong.

So let's see, last week a youth group councilor is Arrested for having 12, 13, 14 and 15 year old kids selling Candy on a Saturday Evening at 6pm with the ultimate goal of keeping these kids away from the troublemakers of their neighborhood.

These two who are arrested at 16. If I recall, it was very cold out, so are the parents going to be charged with Child Endangerment for letting their 16 year old kids out in the cold while they robbed store owners at gunpoint?

Too bad these two 16 year olds didn't know Jule Huston of the New York Youth Group, maybe they would have had something else to do in the cold other than commit robbery.

Oh wait.... Jule Huston was arrested and charged with Child Endangerment for keeping kids out of trouble by selling candy on a Saturday Evening!
