Two Central Islip men have been charged in connection to a house fire in which three people were found shot to death last summer.
Thirty-three-year-old Thomas Singletary pleaded not guilty to arson on Monday and was ordered held on $1 million cash bail. A call to his attorney, Douglas O’Connor, was not answered.
A Suffolk County District Attorney spokesman says his cohort, 33-year-old Hasan Vaughan, faces arraignment Feb. 4 on criminal charges in a sealed indictment. Information on his attorney was not immediately available.
The bodies of 31-year-old Mykier Daniels, her 28-year-old sister, Katrice Daniels, and 19-year-old Louis Calixto Jr. were found Aug. 11, 2009 in the Hickory Street house fire in Central Islip.
Investigators say the three were murdered and the fire was set to cover the killings.
Police say Mykier Daniels’ two children escaped unharmed.
