They have invested in improved facilities, new technology and expanded academic offerings designed to enhance the Dowling experience. They are proud of their outstanding NCAA Division II athletic teams. They have a multipurpose stadium, baseball and softball complex and athletic fields on the Brookhaven Campus.
Dowling operates one of the nation’s leading aviation schools, and they are unrivaled in the Northeast. Dowling participates in the AT-CTI program, providing students with the opportunity to become air traffic controllers. Their aviation students can practice their piloting skills in FRASCA flight simulators, which match the controls of the planes. Dowling had 11 aircraft and recently added four to their fleet.
Dowling College’s New B.S. in Applied Mathematics prepares students for careers in specialized growth industries. This degree is designed to prepare students for employment in specialized fields, requiring strong analytical skills within growing and/or new industries such as bio-technology, engineering, economic analysis, pharmaceutical research, aviation science and advanced scientific computer programming.
Dowling College now offers a Physical Education Teacher Preparation degree, requiring completion of 125 credits with a four year planned sequence. This new degree program offers a comprehensive program that provides strategies to combat today’s issues of childhood obesity. Students receive practical experience with students from diverse educational settings to implement quality physical education instructional practices. The focus is on full understanding the health related issues that effect childhood obesity and the development of effective health and physical education strategies to combat this issue.
