5 More Red Light Cameras Ready to Go in Nassau

Nassau County officials announced Thursday that red light cameras will be activated next week at five more intersections, three of them in Westbury. trafficlight

The intersections include the corner of Peninsula Boulevard and Mill Road in Baldwin, New Hyde Park Road and Marcus Avenue in New Hyde Park, Merrick Avenue and Stewart Avenue in Westbury, Old Country Road and Post Avenue/Merrick Avenue in Westbury as well as Old Country Road and School Street/Salisbury Park Drive in Westbury.

The cameras will go online at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 4. The first 20 cameras became operational in August after receiving approval from New York State lawmakers to install the cameras in April.

 Those looking for more information can visit the county’s Red Light Camera website for up-to-date intersections. Locations will be posted as cameras become active.

Suffolk County has yet to install their red light cameras.
