Nassau police arrested a Bronx man on Tuesday for allegedly forging bank records in Merrick.
Keenan Johnson, 19, entered the HSBC Bank on Sunrise Highway and attempted to cash a forged payroll check in the amount of $914.81, according to 7th Squad detectives. The manager ran the document through a check scanner, noticed irregularities and determined the check was forged, police said.
Police were notified and Johnson was arrested at the bank. He was charged with possession of a forged instrument and was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Wednesday.
