Cops: Missing North Bellmore Man, 81, Found

Nassau police have found the 81-year-old North Bellmore man who went missing.

Daniel Schmidt, who suffers from dementia, was last seen at his Locust Avenue home at 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning.  jj1-294x300He was located in good health in his hometown on Christmas.

Police had utilized the recently enacted Silver Alert Program, which was established to disseminate information quickly to local media, hospitals and other organizations when a senior citizen or other individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or other cognitive disorders goes missing.
