Nassau police are investigating a shoe store robbery in East Meadow on Wednesday night.
Three employees were leaving MJM Designer Shoe store on Hempstead Turnpike when they were confronted by a man brandishing a silver automatic handgun at 11:40 p.m., according to 3rd Squad detectives.
The robber forced the victims to the rear of the store, where he stole $12,500 from the safe, police said.
The suspect, who was described as a black man, 6’ tall, 160 lbs., wearing dark sweatpants, dark sweatshirt, blue and orange sneakers, fled in unknown direction
