Nassau County police are asking the public’s help in solving two armed robberies that took place Saturday night, Dec., 12.
The first incident occurred in Uniondale just after 10 p.m., when First Squad detectives say a man armed with a black handgun and a gray plastic bag approached a clerk at Front Street Liquors, 1085 Front St., demanding money.
After complying with his demands, detectives say the perpetrator walked the clerk and a patron to the back of the store, grabbed a bottle of Arbor Mist liquor and fled on foot toward Valcour Ave., making a left on Fayette St.
He possibly got into a silver mini van, say detectives. No injuries were reported.
The assailant is described as black, 6’ tall, wearing a black ski mask, dark blue hooded jacket and dark pants.
About 45 minutes later, First Squad detectives say a man armed with a black handgun and carrying a black garbage bag entered Quick Stop at 211 Main St. N. in Freeport, and also demanded money from a clerk. Following this clerk’s compliance, the subject fled on foot in an unknown direction, say detectives. One additional employee was also present in the store at the time of the robbery.
No injuries were reported, nor liquor reported missing.
Detectives describe this robber as black, approximately 5’8” tall, with a thin build, wearing a black ski mask, black sweater and black pants.
Detectives ask anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
