The victim of a recent homicide whose body was discovered in a burning vehicle behind a temple in Freeport Friday night has been identified as 28-year-old Rahmeil Sutton, of 740 Carter Street, Rochester, New York, according to Nassau County Homicide Squad detectives.
Freeport Police and Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle on fire at the rear of B’nai Israel Temple at 91 North Bayview Avenue Friday evening, Dec. 11, say detectives. Officers discovered Sutton’s remains inside the unknown-model Dodge once the blaze was extinguished. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 10 p.m., according to detectives, and transported to the Nassau County Medical Examiners Office.
