Jim from Woodbury, a bit obsessed, buddy?

Maybe Chris Botta does not want to hear it from his Ranger friends in the media by writing it on his blog but if he's going to call out one teams attendance he should be just as quick to do it with all the teams, especially when he's covering games at Msg for Fanhouse.

Don't take my word for Jim, let the Ranger fans tell you themselves Msg announced another false sellout Monday. Sure are a lot of ads for individual tickets for every game along with packages on the Ranger website.

See you Wednesday.

*The building woke up for that, a nice change from the sleepy moribund atmosphere that filled it for the rest of the evening. And the Rangers are certain to claim a sell-out but if there were more than 14,000 fans in the building I would be shocked. More than half the luxury boxes were empty and there were wide swaths of empty seats everywhere you looked. To their credit, a friend reported that Garden staff were giving free upgrades to many people up in the Blue Seats.

Oh my God BillyIsles from NYI Fan Central is everywhere crying about coverage. Now he thinks the Long island Press is in on the conspiracy.

The funniest BillyIsles story is him crying to Chris Botta when CB brought up a small Isles home crowd. BillyIsles wanted CB (the Isles ex PR director and now writer of an Isles Blog) to criticize a small Rangers crowd as well. Billy went on his blog and said the Ranger game was half full and wanted CB to bring it up.

CB indicated he was at the Ranger game Billy was referring to and said the crowd was 95% full. CB also said "this is an Isles Blog, why bring up the Rangers attendance".

That's for the kind words Mr McEnaney but it would be the appropriate message to send to the Manhattan papers and their editors not giving our team coverage to double and triple up Islander coverage and drop the Rangers entirely. It's necessary now more than ever considering who owns Newsday which has put up a paywall to shutout fans from Islander coverage. .

Rangers have enough salesman/beatwriters and book authors on the Manhattan beat telling their story, the Islanders do not. The LI Press should not only see this problem but be enthusiastic in stepping into the coverage gap and trying to help the New York Islanders which can only be good for the LI Press.

Why not send someone to every Islander game, home and away, start a dedicated blog strictly with New York Islander coverage and cover the home team. The city papers have had no problem shutting out the Islanders.

The LI Press should be willing to do at leas this much for the home team which would likely attract more viewers and sponsors.

To NYI Fan Central: First of all, love your site - nice job. Secondly, been an Islander fan since they entered the NHL, but always have an interest in what's happening on Broadway with the Blueshirts. The Rivalry piece was done as an inside look at the games from both perspectives - not just as a recap of great Islander moments. We love hockey, so we plan on covering both clubs.

To Mary: Come back to the Islanders, things are getting interesting again. You recalled some great memories and the Garden faithful have indeed been pretty sharp with their chants over the years.

Keep reading. Thanks

Why is the LI Press covering the Rangers at all when the Manhattan papers do not cover the New York Islanders?

Double and triple up on the Islanders, drop the Rangers entirely. Or is this another outlet with life-long Ranger fans covering hockey controlling the spin?

Not enough done on all those New York Islander wins over the Rangers on the way to all those Stanley Cups. Nothing done on all those Islander fans at Msg celebrating all those wins or great games like Turgeon's 50th in overtime with the place turning into Nassau Coliseum West.

I was an Islander fan for years (but haven't followed in a while). I must say though that the Ranger fans were always absolutely relentless, and I have to say, are painfully quick witted. The fact that "potvin SUcks" and the ever charming "beat your wife Denis, Beat your wife" still echoes through MSG is frankly, funny. I remember being at a ranger/flyer game that the rangers were losing miserably...The ENTIRE MSG started singing "Goodbye Shero Goodbye Shero, Goodbye Shero, We hate to see you go!" Ahhh - Sarcasm! He was fired the next day I believe. Hilarious! And i remember the Chili game & the fish heads too. Oh man. That's rough. Good Times!
