A Queens man pleaded guilty Thursday to leading Rockville Centre Police on an early morning high-speed chase that ended when he rammed a police car and severely injured an officer last year.
Brian Frazier, 38, of Jamaica, pleaded guilty to assault in exchange for a promised sentence of 13 years in prison. He will be sentenced Friday.
Rockville Centre Police Department were responding to a call of a suspicious man wearing a ski cap near the corner of North Village Avenue and Lexington Street when the high-speed chase ensued on July 31, 2008.
Frazier, while drivingc a Chrysler, eventually slammed into the police car, severely injuring Police Officer Ernest Ziegler, Nassau prosecutors said. Frazier later tried to flee on foot but was apprehended by another officer.
Officer Ziegler has yet to return to active duty due to his injuries.
