Police have identified remains found burning near an intersection in eastern Connecticut as a missing woman from Medford.
The body was found near an intersection in North Stonington Friday night by police responding to a report of a possible brush fire.
After an autopsy, the woman’s death was ruled a homicide on Saturday.
Suffolk police say the remains have been identified as 24-year-old Rebecca Koster, last seen on Falcon Avenue early Friday morning.
That department referred calls to Connecticut state police.
State police Lt. J. Paul Vance said that the alleged crime happened in New York, and it would be up to authorities there to release any further information.
