A car crash claimed the life of a woman in Lindenhurst on Monday night.
 
Suffolk police said the a victim, who has yet to be identified, was crossing Sunrise Highway northbound on foot when she was struck by a Hyundai being driven by Jesse McNamara, 18, of Lindenhurst at about 9:29 p.m. 

McNamara told 1st Squad detectives that he didn’t see the woman before he struck her.
 
The woman, who is only described as young and Asian, was pronounced dead at the scene.  McNamara was not injured.
 
The Hyundai was impounded for a safety check and the 1st Squad is continuing the investigation.
