Suffolk County Police are investigating the stabbing of a security guard outside of a Patchogue nightclub early Sunday morning.
Members of the Blue Point Fire Department responded to a fire alarm on Gateway Boulevard at about 2:45 a.m. when they were approached by a man suffering from several stab wounds. Aubrey Love, 39, had been stabbed outside of 620 Lounge, located at 620 Waverly Ave. When officers arrived at the scene, they recovered a knife that may have been used in the attack.
Love, who was stabbed more than a dozen times, is a security guard at the club.
According to witnesses, the attack began when security guards ejected an unruly patron from the club, upon which they were attacked by at least five males, some yielding knives. The subjects fled the scene after the stabbing occurred.
Love was transported to a local hospital and was listed in stable condition.
