A Levittown man was arrested Thursday night for meeting an underage girl on the Internet and going to her upstate New York town for sex, New York State police said.
Fahad Sultan, who also goes by Nicholas Sultan, 23, was charged with three counts of criminal sexual act, two counts of third-degree rape and endangering the welfare of a child.
Police said Sultan talked with a girl from Tupper Lake, NY, who is younger than 17 years old, on the Internet and on the phone when Sultan agreed to travel to upstate to meet with her. He committed the offenses over the course of two days, then returned home to Long Island, police said.
The victim reported the incidents to the Tupper Lake Village Police Department, who were assisted in the investigation by the state police Computer Crime Unit, which searched Sultan’s home, vehicle, computer and cell phone.
Sultan was taken back to Tupper Lake where he processed pleaded not guilty at Village of Tupper Lake Court. Bail was set at $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond and the suspect was remanded to Franklin County Jail in Malone, NY.
