The former owner of a defunct Long Island medical supply company has been sentenced to 3-9 years in prison after pleading guilty to grand larceny in a Medicaid fraud case.
Prosecutors say David Williams and his wife stole more than $1 million from Medicaid. They say the suspects billed Medicaid for medical equipment that was never delivered to physicians.
Williams pleaded guilty to grand larceny and was sentenced Friday in Nassau County Court. In addition to prison, he agreed to repay $1.1 million in restitution.
Cynthia Williams pleaded guilty earlier this year to grand larceny and was sentenced to six months in jail.
The company, People’s Choice Surgical Supplies, Inc., was fined $10,000.
