Thanks for the kind words, we try to do our best to present young bands worldwide with intent of them getting heard and maybe book shows In Europe because mainstream channels simply don`t. I have discovered many aspiring artists this way myself, most notably Barnaby Jones, who kick major ass and are now known also here in Europe :) If you wish that we promote your band just drop a mail on byf@exterminator.net

I am from Slovenia, but really dig LIHC, actually I prefer it over NYHC, there is something about this Long Island sound / attitude for lack of better description. Incendiary, Tension*, WR, Silent Majority, Soldiers, Stray From The Path, Punch Your Face,….
Bands are sick.. Thanks for this article, It would mean a lot to me if you could write a similar insight only with emphasis on hardcore heavyhitters from Strong Island.

This was a very enjoyable piece of journalism. And cheers to all of the “youth culture”-oriented bands mentioned in this article as well =)

And when you write “Long Island isn’t just a music scene — it’s a family too”, I can relate to that in so many ways.

Ever since my tenure as Godfather of the Long Island music scene began in 2002 (seems like yesterday sometimes), I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know many bands on an intimate basis.

Cheers also to many of the older bands who help weave this colorful tapestry known as the Long Island music scene. There is something for everyone here, every single night of the week!

Does anyone remember Heartless Wager? They were a damn good band, one of the best to come out of Long Island. I used to be in good with the boys, I seen many a crazy show.

I got email from them saying their getting back together and will be on tour, that is a good thing for Long Island scene.

The drummer used to get all tight on JD and go off, the people loved it. The last I saw them was at Roosevelt Field mall, they did a mini concert and were on.

I don’t know what happened to them, I think they had a rought time in the USA, I do know their big in Japan.
