Federal agents arrested a North Woodmere man on Wednesday for trying to meet an undercover detective posing as an under-aged girl on the Internet.
Martin Friedman, 61, had numerous conversations with a person he believed to be a 15-year-old girl starting on Aug. 21 over the Internet from his of Cedarhurst Street home, according to Internet Child Exploitation Section detectives with the Nassau police Crimes Against Property Squad.
Friedman had engaged in lewd acts and enticed the “girl” to meet him in person order to engage in criminal acts, police said. The “girl” was actually a detective from the Broward County Florida Sheriff’s Office Strategic Investigations Division. Agents with the U.S. Marshalls New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force apprehended the suspect at his home.
Friedman is being held pending extradition to Broward County, Fla.
