A Seaford man was drinking a cocktail while driving erratically on two parkways on Sunday night, New York State Police said.
Peter Allen, 34, was reported by a 911 caller to be driving erratically in Honda Accord northbound on the Wantagh State Parkway and then westbound on the Northern State Parkway at 9:40 p.m., police said. He drove from his lane unsafely by crossing over the white dotted line, crossed over the fog line and then drove onto the shoulder.
A trooper pulled the car over and noticed a strong odor of alcohol emanating from Allen’s breath and that he had bloodshot eyes, police said. The trooper also said Allen had an open glass containing a Bloody Mary in the center console cup holder.
Allen was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to take a breath test, drinking alcohol in a moving vehicle and several traffic law violations.
