Hey Tom,

Why not forget about this controversial and dangerous Red Light Camera thing and use similar technology (which exists and is in use all over the globe) to curb the out of control speeding in Nassau County. A good place to start would be the School Zones. This technology will also give a boost to the pathetic conviction rate for speeding in Nassau County. I doubt very much that folks will publicly decry getting nailed for speeding in a school zone with the aid of proven technology as being “NOT FAIR!” . You want to see a revenue stream? Fasten your seat belt and oil up your cash register. You just might save a few lives in the process whereas the red light cameras will likely cause many rear end collisions, some possibly fatal.

Once again, Tom Suozzi will blame everyone and everything else for the problems of Nassau County.
I’m sure we’re going to hear that it’s the “previous administrations” fault and then we’ll hear it’s Albanys fault and then it’s the economys fault and then it will be the school districts faults and the tax refunds and on and on.
Mr. Suozzi should stop and look in the mirror and figure out what everyone else has figured out. The responsibillity rests in his lap. Almost eight years later and dollar for dollar we are in a LOT worse shape now than when he took office.
Tom, step down and go back to the unfinished waterfront fiasco in Glen Cove you started. Have some guts and say “I did it and I can’t fix it”. And lose 30 to 40 of those NYC do nothing friends of yours on the payroll!
