A hotel under construction was robbed early this morning as a security guard was held at gun point.

Nassau police said that while on duty at the site of a Hampton Inn that is under construction on Jericho Turnpike in Syosset, a security guard was surprised by five men who came up behind him with a handgun. Three held him at bay while two entered the building and robbed 17 brand new 32″ plasma television sets, valued at $10,200.
Detectives say the gang then fled the scene in a dark-colored Jeep. No license plate was spotted. They traveled east on the Long Island Expressway.
The guard was not injured.
The five suspects are described as male Hispanics, 30-35 years of age, medium build, short black hair and wearing dark bandanas on their face.
