Southold Town Police began an investigation on June 7 into the disappearance of Eber Lopez, who attended a Christening at a Wild Cherry Way home in Southold the night before, according to Missing Persons Section and Homicide Squad detectives.

During the party, he was confronted by a number of men believed to have gang affiliations, police say. Lopez has not been seen since and the investigation has determined that there is a strong probability that he is the victim of foul play, detectives add. Investigators would not release the name the gang or describe the evidence found at the party that led them to believe there was foul play.

Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this case to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
