Oh cool, another River fan! I’ve yet to get into it completely (though I know it will happen) but I have a friend in Chicago who loves it to pieces, and ironically she’s the same age as Terry’e oldest daughter. I really love his Superlungs songs, recorded when he was 18-19 y.old. The intensity of his vocals is just mind blowing. Of course I know he was wanted by BOTH Page and Blackmore. Never joined any band, has always been fiercely independent. Unfortunately his career was a total trainwreck, over and over. But his music is timeless.

Hey Mallory — No need to worry, the series will lumber on till its natural end. As for Terry Reid, I don’t see him on the horizon (though “River” is a TOTAL CLASSIC that absolutely kills me every time I listen to it)…but I did do Led Zep already, and Reid was Pagey’s original choice to front the New Yardbirds, so…maybe…by extension…that…suffices? I dunno, maybe I’ll do a “River” column in the future. It’s certainly worth it.
