It is a fact of life: At one point or another, we all need an attorney. Long Island is home to many qualified, skilled practitioners of law, and most are completely kioli—locally born, raised, educated and serving their friends, families and neighbors. Mark T. Freeley, Esq. is one of LI’s more prominent personal injury attorneys, and a great example of a professional who understands what it means to be a good neighbor and good Long Islander.

Years in business: 20 years
Business Description: Personal Injury Fraud Lawyer representing those injured in auto accidents, construction accidents, work injuries, and all other accident/injury matters.
How did you get into this business?
I started working at the personal injury law firm that I am now a partner of and manager, and a law clerk while attending Hofstra Law School.
What is your favorite memory of doing business on LI?
Trying my first jury trials in Nassau County Supreme Court in Mineola.
How are you different from your competition? I try to be very straightforward, upfront and open with all of my clients from the outset. I offer a personal approach to my clients, and I am very available to them so that they are always aware of what is going on with their care.
Who is the biggest celebrity you have ever served/done business with?
I’m still waiting for a celebrity client, I imagine it will be a while as I don’t spend time with the “who do you know” crowd.
What’s the last thing you ever sold?
I think the last thing that I sold was a dozen donuts and a cup of coffee while working in Dunkin’ Donuts in 1980 while in high school. Ahh, those were the days, no pressure.
Tell us about your website. What is a highlight?
One of the best things about my website is that it contains a sample car insurance policy. This enables people to see what insurance they really should have from a lawyer’s point of view.
What’s your favorite thing about living on LI?
I live in the Three Village area and I love being close to the LI Sound, Stony Brook Village, and Port Jefferson Village. It’s a great place to raise a family and the schools are excellent for my kids.
What’s your favorite local restaurant?
Vintage Steakhouse, St. James and Ruvo, Port Jefferson.
Hamptons or Fire Island?
East Hampton, off season.
Do you have a Long Island accent?
Compared to “upstaters,” definitely.
Billy Joel, Mariah, of Run DMC?
Honestly, the King of All Media, Howard Stern.
