Since 1939.
How did you get into this business?
It was the family business.
What is your favorite memory of doing business on LI?
The favorite thing doing business here is seeing the generations of families who shop here coming back to visit.
How are you different from your competition?
We’re an independent business serving the community. We provide personal service. We have long-time employees who care about and love what they do.
Can people shop online at your store?

What’s your favorite thing about living on LI?
Great diversity, its closeness to everything: city, skiing, beach, ocean. It’s close to all the good things in life. That has to be the reason people stay here. It can’t be for the taxes.
How do people find out about your business?
Online, through local ads, word of mouth. Word of mouth is probably the strongest thing we have. Family and friends.
Do you have a Long Island accent?
I don’t think so. (He doesn’t.)
Why should parents get their children a pet?
In the computer world people are really shortchanged by not having an animal. It’s gives them responsibility. They have someone to talk to without having to hear any crap back. It brings a soothing quality to the mind.
